Cambridge Raceway is steeped in history, from humble beginnings as a trotting club nearly a century ago it has built on its heritage and evolved into a multipurpose entertainment venue and the home of Harness and Greyhound racing in the Waikato.
Waikato-BOP Harness Racing will hold 24 race meetings at Cambridge Raceway during the 2017/18 racing season which runs from the 1st of August 2017 until the 31st of July 2018.
The Waikato Greyhound Racing Club has an additional 39 race meetings and 6 dual code meetings to be run in conjunction with Harness Racing Waikato.
Every two years Cambridge Raceway hosts the famous Harness Jewels, the turnover, prize money and attendance make it one of the biggest race meetings in New Zealand Harness Racing.
It is a season defining event featuring the best age group pacers and trotters competing in nine 1609-metre Group 1 events for total stakes of $1.2 million.
The event continues to receive worldwide acclaim and support throughout the entire racing industry and wider community and has quickly become established as the pinnacle of the harness racing season.
On site facilities include The Club House Sports Bar and Cafe which is open 7 days a week along with a range of function spaces which are available for hire 24/7.
