IRT Harness Jewels 2021 - Current Standings

Harness Jewels 2YO Ruby

Mystic Max secured his spot in the Harness Jewels 2YO Ruby with victory at Addington Raceway last Friday. His $5,500 winning purse takes him to third place on the leaderboard. Despite finishing fourth behind Mystic Max after breaking off the mobile, erratic trotter Highgrove maintains his pole position with $22,550 in the bank. The Dean Hunter-trained La Dama has been withdrawn from the Harness Jewels, allowing High On Love to sneak into the 12th qualifying position.

Harness Jewels 3YO Ruby

The Tony Herlihy-trained I See Fire leap-frogged into contention for the 3YO Ruby after winning at Alexandra Park last Friday, putting him in 12th position for the three-year-old division. The Jack Harrington-trained Salvo also recorded a win over 1980m at Addington Raceway last week, with his $5,500 winnings boosting him to ninth position on the standings. Meanwhile, Royal Del ran third at Rangiora on Sunday, with his $800 cheque keeping him in 11th position. All eyes will be on the Gr.2 Lone Star Sires’ Stakes Trotters Championship (2200m) at Alexandra Park this Friday, with the majority of the Harness Jewels contenders competing in the feature.

Harness Jewels 4YO Ruby

The Sam Smolenski-trained I Dream Of Jeannie has been withdrawn from the Jewels, opening up room for the Kevin Townley-trained Vacation Hill to move into the 12th qualifying position. The Coaster Howe-trained Majestic Chick won at Addington last week, adding $6,875 to her tally, placing her in seventh position for the 4YO Ruby. Meanwhile, Kiwitrix finished second at Wairio last Saturday, with his $1,550 earnings putting him in 11th spot. Bolt For Brilliance maintains his spot at the top of the standings for the 4YO Ruby and he has the opportunity to extend that when he lines-up in the Gr.1 ANZAC Cup (2200m) at Alexandra Park on Friday.

Harness Jewels 2YO Diamond

A 1700m contest at Alexandra Park last Friday had the most bearing on the Jewels standings in the last week. Race victor Suntan boosted her earnings by $10,000 to claim fourth position, while the Robert Dunn-trained Dance Till Dawn finished third, maintaining fifth position on The Jewels ladder. The Tony Herlihy-trained Mr Kaplan maintained the yellow Jewels silks when finishing fourth, while Artisan finished one place behind, in both the race and in the Jewels standings.

Harness Jewels 3YO Diamond

Bettor Twist remains the top qualifier with earnings of nearly $280,000, however competition for the minor qualifying places is heating up. The Robert Dunn-trained Off N Gone added $9,000 to her bank when winning the Nevele R Filles Series Heat at Forbury Park last Wednesday, taking her to fifth position on the 3YO Diamond ladder. The Mark Jones-trained La Rosa finished second in the same race, maintaining her third qualifying position. Commander Cathy won over 22000m at Alexandra Park last Friday, taking her season earnings to over $26,000 and into ninth position on the 3YO Diamond standings, while stablemate Shes No Lady finished fourth in the same race to keep herself in the top six. Both Better’s Tart and Better Talk Art ran third in their respective races at Rangiora on Sunday, keeping themselves in qualifying contention.

Harness Jewels 4YO Diamond

Amazing Dream sits atop the 4YO Diamond ladder with $289,000 to her name and she has a chance to add to her purse when she lines-up against the boys in the Gr.1 Dawson Harford LTF 2021 Taylor Mile (1609m) at Alexandra Park on Friday. Further down the ladder, Le Pole Dancer secured 11th qualifying position after winning at Addington last week.

Harness Jewels 2YO Emerald

The Barry Purdon and Scott Phelan-trained Montana DJ is leading the way in the 2YO Emerald standings and added to his earnings when finishing third behind stablemate Major Perry at Cambridge Raceway last Thursday. Major Perry’s win puts him into sixth position for the Jewels with $15,710 in prizemoney for the season.

Harness Jewels 3YO Emerald

The Bruce Negus-trained Corravally was withdrawn from the 3YO Emerald this week, allowing Dashing Major into the top 12. Krug maintains a dominant lead with $314,340 in earnings, while the Hayden Cullen-trained Pace N Pride moved up to fifth position after winning at Rangiora last Sunday, beating fellow Jewels contender Got You Covered (8th position).

Harness Jewels 4YO Emerald

Exciting four-year-old Copy That will carry the Harness Jewels silks in the Gr.1 Dawson Harford LTF 2021 Taylor Mile (1609m) at Alexandra Park on Friday, where he will attempt to build on his season’s earnings of $160, 630. He will be met on Friday by fellow 4YO Emerald hopefuls Christianshavtime (3rd), Kango (7th), New York Minute (9th), and South Coast Arden (11th). Meanwhile, the Mike Berger-trained Pull The Other Leg has made it into the top 12 of the 4YO Emerald standings after winning at Cambridge Raceway last week.
