Cambridge Raceway has announced the running of two racing incentives over their meetings in January.
The first incentive is a $5,000 double-up bonus, which will be offered at the club’s January 10 and 11 meetings.
The bonus is a great addition to what will be a bumper two days of racing, with the Gr.3 Les Harrison Transport Trotters Flying Stakes (1609m) and Gr.2 McMillans Equine Feeds Flying Mile (1609m) being held on January 10, with all support races being held over the mile distance.
“Should any horse win, including dead heats, at both meetings, a bonus payment of $5,000 will be paid to the winning horse’s owners,” Cambridge Raceway operations manager Michael Douglas said.
“Should two or more horses record wins at these meetings, the $5,000 will be shared equally.”
The bonus will be paid in addition to any winning stake supplement that may be paid to any horse that wins at the Waikato-BOP HRC meetings on either day.
The club will also offer a Trotters and Pacers Cup series over January, with the final being run at Cambridge Raceway’s February 9 meeting, with both Finals worth $15,000.
The preliminary races in the series will be run at Cambridge Raceway on January 11 and 18, and at Rotorua on January 26.
“The first four placed runners in each of these races will be guaranteed a start, should they be nominated, in the final to be run at Cambridge Raceway on February 9,” Douglas said.
“Thereafter, selection for the finals will be determined, at the clubs discretion, to those horses who started in the most number of preliminary races in the series and then any other horse who may be nominated for the final.”
